How it works
What is an invisible character?
Blank-looking text can contain a Unicode character even when no mark is visible. It is not an empty string, and a zero-width character does not create a visible gap.
This page offers different character types, not preset blank sizes. Compare their character IDs in the details and paste test. Displayed width depends on the font and app; the test box does not check whether a platform accepts your name.

Find out what was copied before trying it in a name
Pick a blank, copy it, and paste it into the box above. One copy should produce the matching character ID below. U+2800 is a braille character, not an ordinary word space; U+200B controls word separation without adding a visible gap. Do not choose by a promised “wide” size: fonts control the displayed width.
If the box is empty, copying or pasting did not deliver text here. Select and copy again, or allow clipboard access. If the ID is different, check the original selection: another app may have changed the text. For example, compatibility normalization (NFKC) changes U+3164 into U+1160. This tool copies the original value and does not normalize your paste.
If the correct ID works here but a profile rejects it, that is a separate field rule. Instagram display names/bios, Discord names, TikTok, X and game names have not been verified in logged-in accounts for these examples. Use an ordinary name if blank names are disallowed. Repeating a blocked character is not a reliable fix and does not override the service’s rules.

Good to know
Is the copied text really empty?
No. It contains a Unicode character that has no visible shape, so the field is not technically empty.
Why does it not work in my game?
Check the character ID in the paste box first. If it is correct here, the game may disallow blank names or that character. Follow its naming rules and use an ordinary name if needed.
Can I use it on Instagram or Discord?
We have not verified these characters in logged-in Instagram or Discord name fields. The built-in box only checks local text, not whether a profile can be saved. Check the exact field and follow that platform’s rules.
Does Symbol Copy save what I paste?
No. Copying and testing happen inside your browser, and the text is not sent to our server.
